Week 10, Syllabus

Mr. Ditzenberger, 9th Grade Bible
Time: 4 Periods Unit 7-10 Commandments Week: 10 Dates: March 17th-20th
1. Students will list the symbolism involved in the tabernacle.
2. Students will examine the significance of Israel’s broken promise.
3. Students will have a Sabbath rest and enjoy their work by watching each other’s videos.
4. Students will learn about the broken promise of the Israelites by creating a newspaper article relating to the events as described in the Bible.

Monday
1. Watch Videos.

Tuesday
1. Finish presentations.
2. Watch Tabernacle videos-1, 2, 3

Wednesday
1. Take quiz on the tabernacle pieces.
What does the Tabernacle teach us about God?
1. God wants to live with His people. The tabernacle was God’s idea.
2. God wants to be in the center of our lives. The tabernacle was placed in the center of the tribes of Israel.
3. God is holy. The tabernacle was fenced off to Israel. Only the high priest could enter the holy of holies once a year.
4. Man is sinful.
5. God is serious about sin.
6. Sacrifice is the way to God. The brazen altar is the first thing you see when you enter the tabernacle grounds. Sacrifices are costly – cattle and sheep were among the most valuable possessions of that time. Sacrifices are violent. Innocent life dies for guilty life – substitution.

7. Skits-prepare for skits on one of these aspects.
Thursday
1. Perform skits.
2. Israel’s Broken Promise.
3. Newspaper articles if necessary.

Friday
1. Good Friday-Praise God for his goodness to us, for his sacrifice of his son, for Jesus lover offering on the cross!
